From the experience of an AI user with cpstd and ocd - I have been using Google Gemini’s AI functions and find these chats fortunately have guardrails. Its responses address scientific merit of ideas, combat racial stereotypes, offers resources for mental health, and reminds the user often it’s can’t hold empathy. It has caught me and redirected me out of a few thought loops I’ve gotten myself stuck in. I hope it can be a safe and recommended alternative to chat gpt for others like myself who have powerful and potent thoughts.

Thanks for responding! That's really interesting - I hadn't heard of Gemini doing that. I'll look into it further.

This is actually reducing the human interactions . Mostly in teenagers , they tent to get more closer to ai using them as their friend not being aware of the circumstances it can lead to . Indeed a great read !

This resounds with Cannabis and THC audience and the relation of Psychoactivity/Psychosomatic episodes and ECS threshold when saturated.

This is definitely the spookiest post that I’ve read on the platform. Thank you so much for the effort and research that went into this. It’s something that I would never have considered.

I appreciate the kind approach you've taken for this post, as well as the research that you've put into it. While I personally detest the harm AI is doing to creative fields, I can recognise that it serves a sort of function for some people who are out of other options. Actual legislation for AI will probably be a blessing for everyone in the long run.

Agreed - there definitely needs to be some sort of consensus on how far AI can go.

I just had a friend have an ‘AI interview’ and was rejected - not sure he ever even was seen by a human. Nuts….

Hello I am going to be sincere to you, psychiatry is a scam, psychiatrist are a gang, most of them are aware that their psychiatric drugging and ECT does not cure, not to prevent alterared state of mind, the "names" on mental illness are a convenience to be able to drug people, without diagnosis there is not a legal treatment, they are supported by "governments" because they are the cover up to many abuse and torture in civilians.. Psychiatry and those who support them are a shame to a normal mind.. Please check research work of Dr Peter Bregging, US he is one of the few psychiatrist against drugging, has a Substack, Profesor Goetzer, Dr BOB Johnson UK.. Sadly I have enough experience and research to support my statements if you want evidence or discuss further contact me.... Orli Note: I did not continue reading your post as soon as you mentioned you have consulted "psychiatrist"... Instead of using people to robe their life and life from provoked long life drugaddicts in many cases stripen from basic human rights, if society will use that money to ensure people do not have to fear poverty, that people can eat nutritious food and feel respected and supported mental illness will almost not exist,

An important and thought provoking contribution, as we seek to navigate the real effects and consequences of A.I. on our world.

Really appreciated this. The framing of AI as amplifier rather than cause was sharp, and the link you made between delusion themes and cultural anxieties really stuck with me. Thanks for writing with such clarity.

But a person can ask the chat to criticize or give negative feedback on the situation. It doesn’t just agree it also points out the problem

I have just learned of friends who rely on this interactive resource. Looking forward to asking questions about their experience.

“Fixing this means rebuilding: affordable therapy, walkable neighbourhoods, third spaces, community centres - a culture that prioritises connection over productivity.“

Europe doesn’t have near the loneliness epidemic that we have here in the US because their communal spaces are made for walking and they value long chats connecting with family and friends over shared meals rather than hustle culture.

I love how much research you put into this. AI has some wonderful things but it coexists with scary consequences at times. I am also concerned with how our youth is using AI for friendship instead of befriending actual humans.

What resonated for me is when you stated that there is no pushback with AI. One’s thinking or viewpoint may be flawed at the outset and AI will just mirror it back.

Excellent article!
